From the Rector…
Last week I shared with you that your clergy and vestry have been doing some visioning work regarding our mission and ministry here at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension. That work continues and we need your help. Following this post, you will find a link to a 20-question survey that highlights ADS, the Choir, and Outreach as significant parts of our mission and ministry. I invite you to take as much or as little time as you want to fill out the survey and offer us your feedback in this visioning work.
Though the vision of any organization is somewhat dependent on its leadership, it finds life and vitality through its members—you. And right now, we need your help in the planning process. This survey is the next step in that process. Though we have identified needs based on our pandemic discernment process, we need you to help us clarify those needs and their priorities in our mission and ministry.
Your opinion matters and this is your opportunity to express it. I hope you will take advantage of this survey in the next two weeks and fill it out and send back to us. We will then share the responses with you in the E-Tower as well as through a series of gatherings in the month of September. Invitations for the gathering will go out at the end of this month.
As my fourth anniversary at Ascension draws ever closer, in some ways, I feel like we are just getting started. After a year of getting to know one another, followed by two years of pandemic, it feels like a great time to discern and dream about where we get to go from here. Thank you for making CoA the warm, loving, hopeful community it is. And for all that you do in service of our Lord through your efforts of mission and ministry. I am excited to see where we get to go from here!
