Join us for a live broadcast of this week's service
In the Episcopal Church, the Book of Common Prayer guides our worship and connects us with the millions of other members of the Anglican Communion. The Book of Common Prayer recognizes the Eucharist as the principle Sunday worship service. In the first half of the service we “break open the word of God—our Holy Scripture” to allow God’s Word to speak to us, call us, and transform us in His image. During the Liturgy of the Word, we also reaffirm our faith through the Nicene Creed, offer prayers and seek to be reconciled to God and neighbor through confession. The second part of the service, also known as the Liturgy of the Table, we receive bread and wine in remembrance of Christ and his promise that he is with us to the end of the ages.
At Church of the Ascension, Sunday worship is traditional but not overly formal and our music program is glorious—you may well think it is the angels themselves who are singing! When you attend a Sunday service, you will receive a bulletin that has all the information you need to follow along during the service. We also offer child care and children’s programs. At communion, everyone has a place at the table!
